The Yemeni Companies' Audit Manual

The Yemeni Businessmen Club YBC organizes  in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation IFC a press conference to launch the Yemeni Companies' Audit Manual.
The conference is attended by, Mr. Ahmed Bazara, the YBC Chairman, Mr. Raymond Conway the Resident Representative of the IFC, Mrs. Amira Al-Saeed the Regional Manager of Corporate Governance Programs –IFC MENA- and.Mr. Iqbal Bahader the Director of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
The Mr. Ahmed Bazara stated that launching the manual is an outcome of the efforts of the public and private sector and civil society organizations cooperation to improve the capacity of Yemeni companies to meet future challenges, adding to creating a stable environment able to attract investment. He pointed out that the manual aims mainly to improve the performance of the audit committees within the Yemeni Companies and to achieve the overall objectives of corporate governance.
He added that the audit committees that operate efficiently is one of the salient features of strong corporate governance and can bring substantial benefits to companies.
The manual preparation and launching took approximately four months initially drafted by an expert Amira Al-Saeed IFC, and then revised and amended by the Corporate Governance Taskforce Committee formed before, with the help of the Yemeni Chartered Accountants Association.

The YBC and its partners aspires to achieve a remarkable improvement at the company's board level when it comes to Audit committee, which in turn will reflect positive results on the performance and relatively at the national economy level. The Manual can be obtained from the YBC headquarters.
